Odd Owly is a blog devoted to honest reviews. Books are chosen based on
my own personal interests, and I never accept payment. The content of
this blog is intended for entertainment purposes, so I'll never write about a
book I consider below 3 stars--where's the fun in that?
If you want to see a certain book reviewed, I accept recommendations in
the comments. I can't promise all recommendations will be featured.
My Rating Scale:
5 Stars--I'm star-struck and lost to literary love.
4.5 Stars--I love the novel, but not obsessively. There may not be a typical problem, but I still might not connect with the story or characters; purely based on personal preference.
4 Stars--I really, really like the novel, but there is something keeping me from literary love. Typically character development is what keeps this type of novel from being "love" material.
3.5 Stars--I really like the novel, but it needs a little work. Typically there is a problem with one of the following: world-building, grammar, plot, or character development
3 Stars--I like the novel, but probably won't read it again. Typically there are problems with the world-building, grammar, plot, or character development that detract from overall satisfaction. Quality of writing may be underwhelming.
